Avalon will perform Borodin’s stunningly lyrical String Quartet No. 2, which is best known for its shamelessly romantic Nocturne. Also on the program is Shostakovich’s String Quartet no. 9 in E flat major, a deeply personal work that is filled with vibrant energy.
